Darcy Posted March 18, 2008 Report Posted March 18, 2008 I think I have IE6 support worked out and might possibly take a crack at IE5.5... I spent some hours staring and cleaning up the layout. I also introduced a feature to toggle the backgrounds on and off. So fans of basic black can stick with that, once set the website will remember that you don't want to see backgrounds anymore. I am keeping the touch of color in the links, text, and floating buttons, which I think is objectively better than the purely black and white. I'd like to know if this toggling works OK for people on various browsers. I quickly went through my photography and grabbed 90 or so of the better images, I will go through with better care later, but I put them into two groups that would be loaded randomly, one with dark backgrounds and one where the purple comes out more. These then are grouped and loaded randomly. So every visit back to the site will greet the non-basic-black user with a fresh background. Some are better than others, I need to weed out the weak ones. The goal is to keep the front page somewhat fresh. I put a google chat badge on the thing instead of the Flash plugoo thing that was there before that generated the cookies and took up too much space. I like the way this works better. I've tested on FF3 and IE7. Seems to work on IE6, but my testing program won't check transparent images not on my disk... http://www.nihonto.ca/test/ If you want to test it out. I will probably start rolling it into the website this week. Quote

b.hennick Posted March 19, 2008 Report Posted March 19, 2008 It seems to work perfectly. I can toggle the background in IE 6. Quote
