Grey Doffin Posted May 23, 2017 Report Posted May 23, 2017 Hi guys, I've just gotten in a signed Jakushi tsuba, which will be for sale, and with hako-gaki. Other than the date (July 1962) I can make no progress on the hako-gaki. If someone would be kind enough to tell me if the writing matches the tsuba (at least) or better yet what actually is said, I'd be most grateful Thank you, Grey Quote
Grey Doffin Posted May 24, 2017 Author Report Posted May 24, 2017 Sorry Jay; I don't understand. Grey Quote
Bugyotsuji Posted May 24, 2017 Report Posted May 24, 2017 Just guessing the middle lid, = Nagasaki Jakushi, Tetsu Un-ryu Tsuba. Quote
Bugyotsuji Posted May 24, 2017 Report Posted May 24, 2017 Grey, Can't read the name of the person who signed the description on the right, (Kawaguchi something) but generally what it says roughly is: Tetsu Ji Maru gata Kaku(?) mimi, Unryu Nikubori, Kin Nunome Zogan, Mei Jakushi & date Quote
Grey Doffin Posted May 24, 2017 Author Report Posted May 24, 2017 Thank you Piers. It helps to know the hako-gaki matches the tsuba. Grey 3 Quote
