GARY WORTHAM Posted May 1, 2017 Report Posted May 1, 2017 Hung an old calligraphy on our wall, but no idea what the 2 kanji says or the 10 kanji vertical statement. Sure would feel more happy to tell others what it says. Thanks !!! Quote
Baka Gaijin Posted May 1, 2017 Report Posted May 1, 2017 Hi Gary., Image 1, the first Kanji on the left could be Kotobuki 寿 Quote
Bugyotsuji Posted May 1, 2017 Report Posted May 1, 2017 Building on a solid base like Malcolm, how about the first kanji on the right being So/Okuru 送 in which case together it could mean sending good fortune, etc. Just guessing, and if it's wrong, then no, Malcolm, who is he? (or Michi/Do 道 ?) Quote
Baka Gaijin Posted May 1, 2017 Report Posted May 1, 2017 Hi Piers., I also thought Michi 道 for the Kanji on the right. Quote

SteveM Posted May 1, 2017 Report Posted May 1, 2017 I'm certain 寿 is correct. The right side (and presumably the first part, since it is most likely read from right-to-left) doesn't seem like 送 or 道. I thought maybe 通 or 延 but none of those are ticking all the boxes either. For the left side, I will take a guess at the middle bit. 大僧正 1 Quote
Baka Gaijin Posted May 1, 2017 Report Posted May 1, 2017 Hi Guys, I've looked at parings using 寿 Could it be 長 as in 長 寿 - Chō Toshi - Long LIfe Quote
