I live in Canada and never had any problem receiving my antique sword blades from other countries, although never from Japan.

 

1) make sure the sender describes them as "antique" on the custom forms  (modern swords used for protection are seen as weapons and not allowed)

 

2) list the value for customs tax purposes to be paid by the receiver.

most dealers can only ship surface from Japan to Canada.. or in lucky cases they will be able to use fedex. I don't think they can ship EMS anymore.
