alexiss Posted January 24, 2017 Report Posted January 24, 2017 Please help with Judgment paper, who issued this Judgment paper and what it says? Is this o.K. Judgment paper? Thank you, Quote
SwordGuyJoe Posted January 24, 2017 Report Posted January 24, 2017 Looks like old Kicho Token papers from the NBTHK. I know the tokubetsu kicho papers are no longer recognized by the NBTHK, so I would assume these are the same, but perhaps I'm wrong. http://www.nihontocraft.com/japanese_sword_papers.html 1 Quote
Ray Singer Posted January 24, 2017 Report Posted January 24, 2017 The same applies to Kicho, Tokubetsu Kicho and Koshu Tokubetsu Kicho. 1 Quote
Toryu2020 Posted January 25, 2017 Report Posted January 25, 2017 This looks like a Toen-sha paper issued by Murakami Sensei. Often reliable attributions to my understanding. -t 2 Quote

SwordGuyJoe Posted January 25, 2017 Report Posted January 25, 2017 Thanks for the correction Tom! I wasn't aware of that type of papers. Quote
seattle1 Posted January 25, 2017 Report Posted January 25, 2017 Hello: As Tom says it is a paper issued by the Toen-sha, a now defunct organization, once headed by Murakami sansei. As I understand it Murakami was a respected sword man, once on the NBTHK Juyo panel, and the editor his organization's sword journal. The group seemed to fade away after Murakami died. John Yumoto brought the group to San Francisco in 1976 for the shinsa held there at that time. I believe their papers, which were issued in several grades, to the level of Juhoto, their Juyo designation, were well respected. Arnold F. 2 Quote
Jussi Ekholm Posted January 26, 2017 Report Posted January 26, 2017 Looks to me that the sword is attributed to later generation Aizu Kanesada. 1 Quote
