Once a katana, but then cut down to wakizashi size. It was put through the UK shinsa by the previous owner (well known member on this forum).

The sword was made in a Soshu style and is covered in Tobiyaki, infact that was the reason I bought it, to study Tobiyaki. The sword has a great deal of activity in it, I think its described as hitatsura on the paper, the jigane is a running o-itame. Sword is in good polish, my photography does not do the blade any favours. Nagasa 19" approx.

The blade has a few small flaws, nothing that got in the way of the shinsa result. An Umegane which is difficult to see, and a small kitae kizu near the habaki.

Overall, a good quality sword with papers in a well made shirasaya, I think the buyer will be very pleased.

The previous owner felt the blade was older (koto), very experienced UK Collectors felt the blade was Bizen Omiya from the 1450,s

I will offer the sword at the same price I bought it for, I felt the price was very fair at £700, so not open to offers.

Shipping uk is £20     overseas £65  (insured) buyer to cover paypal fees

A donation to board if sold.

I will ship to most countries

Please contact me via email if you are interested. Excuse the photography, I'm no Darcy.
