AndreasU Posted December 4, 2007 Author Report Posted December 4, 2007 Hmm, so it seems that you are quite familiar with this stuff. Don't you have a Tsuba that will fit to a nice Shinto period wakizashi? Andreas Quote

Marius Posted December 4, 2007 Report Posted December 4, 2007 Am I wrong or do pics 10 and 11 indicate that the tsuba has been in a fire? Thankfully Possservice posts very good pictures - what you see is what you get. regards Quote
Marius Posted December 4, 2007 Report Posted December 4, 2007 Oh, here si the source for my assumption (that the tsuba has suffered from being in a fire): http://www.nihontokanjipages.com/fire_scale.html Best regards Quote

It also seems to show more active rust in some areas which is another trait of burning. Richard Quote
John A Stuart Posted December 4, 2007 Report Posted December 4, 2007 Certainly another dry tsuba. The descriprtion says lacquered which would be glossy at least in patches. More like flat black air spray to create a patina of some sort. John Quote
