Bungo Posted November 16, 2007 Report Posted November 16, 2007 did a switch on the tsuba. The new tsuba is the same as the f/k, a tai fish with eboshi which I feel match the koshirae better. The f/k is Kaga school, the menuki is bundle of flowers, quite 3 dimensional. The original tsuba looks Owari, it's about 6mm thick. the tai tsuba can be seen at ................ http://www.esnips.com/web/tsuba?docsPage=9#files milt the flying ronin Quote
John A Stuart Posted November 16, 2007 Report Posted November 16, 2007 Hi Milt, Looks good. BTW you sniped  my kozuka menuki set, good price. Blast. Let me know how it is in hand when you get it. John Quote

John A Stuart Posted November 16, 2007 Report Posted November 16, 2007 That's the one. I had a few minutes to go and got tied up with that armour thing and forgot to check last minute. Next thing I know I saw your handle was the winning bid. Oh well that's what it's all about. Grumble, grumble. John Quote
Brian Posted November 16, 2007 Report Posted November 16, 2007 John, Never try and bid yourself at the end. Use an auction sniper like Milt does, it is the only way to go. I like http://www.justsnipe.com but there are others. Btw..I almost put in a bid on that one myself Brian Quote
Pete Klein Posted November 16, 2007 Report Posted November 16, 2007 I wouldn't worry too much on not getting it -- one of the legs is missing from a menuki. Here's a pic of my set sans gold: Quote

remzy Posted November 17, 2007 Report Posted November 17, 2007 Milt, your sword is looking rather.... fishy! *drum roll* Quote
Bungo Posted November 17, 2007 Author Report Posted November 17, 2007 yes, it has REAL grain ( wood, that is )........ another interesting thing, the kurikata ( spelling ? ) on the saya is on the " wrong " side, must be meant for a left handed samurai. p.s. seriously, I think it goes better with the fish tsuba, the owari one has no " tie in " meaning........... what do you all think ? milt the flying ronin Quote
Pete Klein Posted November 17, 2007 Report Posted November 17, 2007 Milt -- do you have a picture of the saya / kurikata? Quote
