did a switch on the tsuba.

 

The new tsuba is the same as the f/k, a tai fish with eboshi which I feel match the koshirae better.

The f/k is Kaga school, the menuki is bundle of flowers, quite 3 dimensional.

 

The original tsuba looks Owari, it's about 6mm thick.

That's the one. I had a few minutes to go and got tied up with that armour thing and forgot to check last minute. Next thing I know I saw your handle was the winning bid. Oh well that's what it's all about. Grumble, grumble. :lol: John

you have sharp eyes !!, that's the " damage " ole Po shown at the bottom pic.......

Price paid is about fair price for the koz......... ;)

yes, it has REAL grain ( wood, that is )........ :lol:

 

another interesting thing, the kurikata ( spelling ? ) on the saya is on the " wrong " side, must be meant for a left handed samurai.

p.s. seriously, I think it goes better with the fish tsuba, the owari one has no " tie in " meaning........... what do you all think ?
