jesse Posted January 19, 2016 Author Report Posted January 19, 2016 Stephen, thanks man. As I watch and read these forums, I see you come through for many people. Many thanks to you time and knowledge. Jesse 1 Quote
jesse Posted January 19, 2016 Author Report Posted January 19, 2016 Keyboard is sticky. Should have read 'to your time and knowledge'. Jesse Quote
Stephen Posted January 19, 2016 Report Posted January 19, 2016 No worries Jess, we do have a edit button Quote
SwordGuyJoe Posted January 20, 2016 Report Posted January 20, 2016 Any photos of the blade? I've always liked Moritaka's work Quote
jesse Posted January 20, 2016 Author Report Posted January 20, 2016 ]Stephen, last thing I need is a smart ass Marine.....it's like having to listen to some air puke telling me how great he is with Powerpoint...of course he is, he's in the Air Force... Here are some pics of the blade. I only collect swords from Shinto era and older but this was a deal that was too good to pass up. Jesse Quote
Stephen Posted January 20, 2016 Report Posted January 20, 2016 You think that was smart ass, your on top my list now. GFUS Quote
jesse Posted January 20, 2016 Author Report Posted January 20, 2016 ok, I'll bite, what does GFUS stand for? Old frogman here no longer does acrynoms or spelling jesse Quote
SwordGuyJoe Posted January 21, 2016 Report Posted January 21, 2016 Thanks for the pics and go easy on Stephen - he's one of my favorite jarheads and his kid had the good sense to join the navy. I am just guessing, but I think it means Go F... Ur Self. Could be wrong, since it's been a while since I've translated leatherneck... 1 Quote
Brian Posted January 21, 2016 Report Posted January 21, 2016 Bet Powerpoint users can find an edit button though. Seriously hope that was all in jest. We like servicemen and especially Marines here. Nothing smartass about pointing out the edit button that makes life easier for everyone. I'm gonna assume the comment was all in fun, last thing I need right now is a flame war. 1 Quote
jesse Posted January 21, 2016 Author Report Posted January 21, 2016 Brian, it's all in jest. I spent 10 years as a Navy Frogman. Nothing but absolute respect for anyone who serves... Jesse 1 Quote
Stephen Posted January 21, 2016 Report Posted January 21, 2016 Yea all fun in games between two members of same branch of service, note this narley old jarhead eats frog legs raw in survival. 1 Quote
jesse Posted January 21, 2016 Author Report Posted January 21, 2016 Then I hope you choke on my bones.... 1 Quote
Stephen Posted January 21, 2016 Report Posted January 21, 2016 back to a fine looking blade, your first photo looked like a new nakago when was it made? Quote
jesse Posted January 22, 2016 Author Report Posted January 22, 2016 about 30 years ago. It came as a bare blade and I will make the koshire myself. There is virtually zero scratches on the blade. Making the furniture, that is the part of the hobby I love. This will be my 4th blade making and putting the decorations together. jesse 1 Quote
