Drago Posted October 12, 2015 Report Posted October 12, 2015 Sorry, it's me again. Seriously, I always try to figure it out, but once this is not regular script, I always get stuck. I tried using Markus' cursive script book, but this is not grass/sosho... (Hey Markus, how about a semi-cursive book? Or if this already exists, what's the title/author?) I set my alarm for the middle of the night to bid on this kakejiku and got it. It's a motif I always wanted. I'd greatly appreciate any help you can offer in figuring out who the painter is. Thanks! SteveM Posted October 16, 2015 Report Posted October 16, 2015 Sorry Tobias... I tried, but its a bit too cryptic. Nice piece, though. Quote
k morita Posted October 17, 2015 Report Posted October 17, 2015 Hi, I cannot decide between 枩(Shō) and 堂(Dō) of the first Kanji. If it's "Shō", 枩園敬寫(Respectafully draw by Shōen) . If it's "Dō" , 堂園敬寫(Respectafully draw by Dōzono). Dozono is a family name. 2 Quote
Drago Posted October 18, 2015 Author Report Posted October 18, 2015 Thank you very much Morita-dono. A few questions if I may: 1. How do you read 敬寫? ケイシャ? キョウシャ? 2. Why did you use 寫 instead of 写? Ah, I suppose signatures really do need to be illegible... After checking Markus' cursive book and the Internet, I would think it looks more like 堂. If you write it a little more compressed... Quote
