Hi Bojan, Not all that much on him, (http://www.sho-shin.com/hoku2.htm) from Fujishiro's (MORIHIRO ECHIZEN [OEI 1394 ECHIZEN] CHUKOTO JOSAKU

He is the son of Chiyozuru Kuniyasu, he also lived in Kaga, and is called Kamosaburo. According to the Koto Meijin Daizen, he died in Kyotoku 3 at the age of 58, but I do not know whether this is true or not.) :) Hawley's gives him 20p do you have some pics of the blade and paper :)

Hi,Jim,

I think that this is the right smithhttp://nihontoclub.com/smiths/MOR43 on NBTHK Tokubetsu paper the name is writen exactly like this (千代鶴守弘) it is mentioned as 3th gen. and as son of Kuniyoshi1. The other Morihiro MOR 492, form Oei, has difernt kanji 森弘. First one Hawley 80 and second is Hawley 20. MOR492 is son of ChiyozuruMorihiro 2.gen.

Also Markus Sesko noted in Chiyozuru genealogy two Morihiros from Oei, one is 3th gen. and second is son of 2. gen. Morihiro..

But this is jus my opinion, from what I find on the web?

Is any chance to find out which generation of Morihiro's my sword is. As I read first generations worked in suguha like Kuniyoshi1 founder of Chiyozutu line and had some characteristic of Rai tradition..

Thank you for help,

Check Fujishiro to see if and which generations received ratings. My guess would be the first generation for the NBTHK to have issued a TokuHo paper without a mei.

BTW, Fujishiro lists and rates the first generation Chiyozuru, but I believe he is actually mistakenly talking about and describing the 2nd generation, as his date is concurrent with the 2nd generation, not the first who is listed as working earlier in more than one publication.

Also, I see utsuri in the AOI description for your sword, but have to wonder if it is really utsuri or just strong ji-nie. The reason being is that I was often asked if my first generation Chiyozuru had utsuri, which it did not, just very strong areas of ji-nie. As far as the hamon and boshi are concerned this sword is very similar, however, your Morihiro has a bit later shape.

Thank you Franco. I thik I have to agree with you about Utsuri description from Aoi, sword has very strong ji-nie line, mybe some Utsuri in lower partof the blade. It is very healthy with nice jigane and one deep Kirikomi cut on the mune. I didn't catch to make photo of the blade, as it arrived week ago from Aoi..Mr. Tsuruta write only as it is son of Kuniyasu and Oei age. NBTHK write name as (千代鶴守弘) -Tokubetsu Hozon.

My I ask if you have signed blade of first gen. ChiyozuruMorihiro?

Regards,

BojanS.
