Izuminokami Koike Naomasa tsuba on ebay real or ??

I was following this Tsuba and was unsure if the name was a fake or not. http://www.ebay.com/itm/380953042752?ss ... 1423.l2649

If real, I missed a good one. I went and played golf and didn't bid. So, the name on the tsuba is very sharply inscribed which made me think it might be not original. What are your thoughts?

Hi Yogoro and Jim,

One the same as this was on the very good site

the Silk Road a couple of years ago with a box

with hakogaki by Dr Toriogoye and I was told

that it was bought by someone in the KTK.

It looks the same one to me as I discussed it

at length with an other Tsuba collector,a definite

bargain at that price

No need to compare the signatures; compare the work. The tsuba above with Torigoye's hako-gake is quite charming; the tsuba from ebay is a mess.

To my eyes these look like very similar workmanship. Poor photography and perhaps some overzealous cleaning may make the ebay piece look weak but I actually think it by the same hand as the more acceptable example already shown here.
