jeeplover Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 I have been seeing a lot of these swords lately that have these two small knives. this is what they are calling them futakoromono (two side knives) is this real Quote
Marius Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 Keith, can you be more specific? Who is selling what? Give us some pics, please, an we shall see if the items are real. futakoromono means a matched set of kozuka, kogai and perhaps also other parts of kodogu (sword fittings) I think you need some basic books about the Japanese sword and its fittings. jeeplover Posted December 30, 2013 Author Report Posted December 30, 2013 here are pictures the little knifes go down the side of the saya Quote
Brian Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 The one is a hair arranger called a kogai. The other is a little accessory knife..the blade of which is called a kogatana and the handle is a kozuka. Google should give you all the info you need on them. Some swords came with both, some with one, and some with neither. Brian Quote
jeeplover Posted December 30, 2013 Author Report Posted December 30, 2013 thank you was not sure if this was real or fantasy Quote
Ron STL Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 Keith - It's hard to tell for sure just what quality these are, but they do appear to be a matched pair. Both have horse trappings...saddle, riding crop, etc. It would be important not to seperate these from one another. Ron STL Quote
