I've been a few times. Probably the gold-standard of militaria shows anymore. The one in Pennsilvania - The MAX - is dead, but apparently no one told the promotor.

One suggestion is that they typically do a gun show at the same time they are doing the SOS. DON'T BUY UNTIL YOU LOOK THERE. I picked up a couple lower-grade gendaito (at a pretty good price), then went to the gun show and kicked myself because there were something like a half-dozen tables dedicated to swords - one with a really pretty Watanabe Kanenaga (if memory serves - and it seldom does).

I set up at the SOS and so do several Japanese sword dealers. You will also find swords on other tables. It is well worth coming. Stop by my table and say Hi.

Thanks for the tip Joe!

Mark, are you going to the shows in Kentucky?

Stephen I would probably actually try to make it to that show but I'm a coach and it's basketball season. Whenever I learn how to teach height, I'm going to be a rich man :D.

I am at the show they are having now. It is NOT in KY and is a smaller show they have twice a year in Ohio. I will be at the SOS in KY in Feb 2014. Contact me if I you have any questions.
