Tcat Posted December 5, 2012 Report Posted December 5, 2012 Anyone seen one of these before? Worth picking up? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Japanese-woodbl ... 3a748ba82d Quote
Civilis Posted December 5, 2012 Report Posted December 5, 2012 Now and then you see these type of books on ebay and other auction sites. Mostly they sell for somewhere between 20 and 150 usd. I don´t think there is 450 usd of value in this one but I could be wrong, hard to tell from the limited info provided by the seller. It looks in decent shape, but personally I would not pay more than 100 usd for it. Quote
Clive Sinclaire Posted December 5, 2012 Report Posted December 5, 2012 I have a very similar little book that is dated Taisho 6h year. Whilst of interest, it is of little practical use as a sword book. I see that I offered it for sale years ago at the San Francisco show and a note inside it says that I was asking $50, but I still have it. Regards Clive Sinclaire Quote
Toryu2020 Posted December 5, 2012 Report Posted December 5, 2012 A nice example, And original as it is coloured. There were reprints of this in the showa period only worth about $20. Neat stuff but not very useful unless you have a specific sword/smith listed annd youd like to have all available info. Much better info available for much less in more recent publications... -t Quote
Tcat Posted December 6, 2012 Author Report Posted December 6, 2012 Thanks to all! I thought it looked 'kinda neat' but $450 is way too much. Quote
