Nobody Posted May 12, 2007 Report Posted May 12, 2007 I found interesting documents at Kyushu University Digital Archives. That is "NIPPON" first edition by Philipp Franz Balthasar von Siebold. These volumes were published at Leiden in 1832-1851. http://record.museum.kyushu-u.ac.jp/nip ... dex-n.html Among the above volumes, Vol. 4 includes Japanese armor and arms. http://record.museum.kyushu-u.ac.jp/nip ... dex-4.html To know von Siebold: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philipp_Franz_von_Siebold For Milt, falcons are included in Vol. 9-10. http://record.museum.kyushu-u.ac.jp/nip ... /l208.html Quote
Brian Posted May 12, 2007 Report Posted May 12, 2007 Great find Moriyama san There are some excellent pages there...going to take me ages to go through them. I see some of the naginata excercises from the Knutsen book were in this book, and many other good pics. Some interesting weapons shown that I had not associated with Japan before too. Thanks for the link. Brian Edit: Wow..you can own an original copy of this book for only 95-175 THOUSAND euro! http://www.ilab.org/db/detail.php?bookn ... rce=addall http://www.ilab.org/db/detail.php?bookn ... rce=addall Quote
