Thekirsh Posted August 24, 2012 Report Posted August 24, 2012 Any help with a translation would be greatly appreciated, I think the kanji for Tokyo & saku kore is there but as for the rest, I am stuck. Also I notice some of the kanji appear to be poorly chiselled, possible due to the swordsmiths age? Ura = 4th year of Showa (1929) Thanks Simon K Quote
cabowen Posted August 24, 2012 Report Posted August 24, 2012 Is this sword on auction currently? Quote
Toryu2020 Posted August 24, 2012 Report Posted August 24, 2012 I hope I can form my kanji that well when I get old...not so poorly chiselled I'm thinkin -t Quote
k morita Posted August 24, 2012 Report Posted August 24, 2012 Mei of the tang: Right line: Made from Unti-rust steel of this company/our firm, Left line: Nippon(Japan) special steel limited partnership company. (In this case, I would like to interpret 本社 not as the head office but as this company/our firm.) Quote
Thekirsh Posted August 25, 2012 Author Report Posted August 25, 2012 Thank you Morita san for the translation, much appreciated. Chris, yes a very recent auction that ended before I posted the request. Simon K Quote
