  1. Hello Gents, i was watching a auction on a wakizashi by Soshu Masahiro on komonjo ebay site, Item number:140860789618 i wondered if anyone else seen it? the hamon on the piece looked to be not confined to the Ha but over the whole blade, is this a usual trait of this smith or school or a 1 of, i myself think it would look amazing in polish. any information on this or other blades like it is greatly apprieciated. Peter

  12. Thanks Chris and George, I went through all 14 pages of Masahiro last night i will go through the Hiromasa later and hopefully find our man. Tiny Tsubas

Thank you all for the replies and comments, i read on a post recently on the board that cast tsuba where made from brittle metal and therefore no good as a sword guard, if Nanban have been in Japan since 1500's,during feudal times, then why are they made if not to mount on swords? surely if they where all 'cast' they wouldn't last long in battle. Tiny Tsubas

Hello Gents, i picked up 2 little Tsuba locally and wonder if you would be kind enough ( again) to give me a little informtion on them if possible, age etc. 1 has been reduced in size to fit a tanto as for the other it fits nicely on a small wakizashi i have, i thought at first 'cast' but not so sure. many thanks, Peter
