It’s good to hear positive feedback of you 2 guys so thanks for that I bought this sword from a guy years ago for 1000 sold it for 1300 but wish I hadn’t so I bought it back Anyway interesting info the blade looks mint minus the cosmoline early 1939 sounds good As quoted slightly offset tsuka-ito pattern on the cast handle.Gifu only did this on their earliest swords and not for verylong, so hard to find these. Not sure what that means is it the pebbles on the Tsuba I thought they all looked the same but I don’t hav anything to compare it to also what’s slightly offset mean And Any idea of value? thanks guys

Swords replied to Swords's topic in General Nihonto Related Discussion
I agree I had bought another navy scabbard thinking it would fit Big mistake it went part way in I do see double hangers which is what I want but don’t want to make another mistake I did think about splitting a different one or use a cover but that would take away the look mine is split especially the top front with a gap I can’t pinch it closed so I don’t know if a repair will work? I will send pictures when I get it I appreciate everyone’s help And if anyone had ideas Or know where I can buy a scabbard I will pay a generous amount provided it’s a nice one steve -

Firstly I believe Eric sells good swords based on persons on the forum and what I know. I I have talked with Eric and found him to be honest and easy to deal with! I know the difference between Arsenal and traditional -Gendaito I always thought tamahagane was used only on star stamped and older Swords I did not know all Gendaito used tamahagane !! I think some people are in a hurry to make assumptions and act like they know more than everyone! I shouldn’t have used the expression sitting on the fence not what I meant! yes I own a couple of books and know I should read more! I believed the forum was a place to get information not to be criticized! However I did get good feed back from others and that I am thankful for!! steve
