  1. I wasn't close 🤦‍♂️😪 John
  2. Thank you for your kind words. Old pictures.. who knows where the papers are.. I have them, that's for sure John
  3. Ha. Probably the previous owner tried to figure it out, tiny part of the massive list though. He was Not so successful it appears 🤣 This fella has got MANY! Way more than me... John
  4. I appreciate your opinion We are talking Nara Goro here. It looks like Shitoku but may be earlier.. As once Jussi mentioned Kaneyuki and Chogi are extremely underappreciated. To me, signed shizu is the main point. Then it is in great health with 76.2 cm nagasa.. John
  5. Kaneyuki (there were some photos posted awhile back), not Kaneuji. Autocorrect can stir up some serious problems John
  6. Always appreciate everyone's concerns/suggestions/opinions even criticisms. I am done climbing ladders and opening safes for awhile now so that should be sufficient enough to begin with.. these are the ones that give me confidence to pursue a high grade. From what I understand signed Shizu are not common and mine has once been papered. So signed Shizu, Yamato Shizu Naginata (papered) and Shodai Tadayoshi (papered) would be a good package for NBTHK in October☺ John
  7. Yes, this one will run very very high, hence my hesitation to put it in the post John
  8. I appreciate that very much!! I know the expectations are really high but I also know what I own. No bragging John
  9. Shodai Tadayoshi John
  10. Nambokucho Naotsuna. Nambokucho Akihiro Nambokucho Sa Hiroyuki John
  11. One by one. First is the Yasuaki. Have no clue why it hasn't been sold yet.. maybe the whole shinsakuto vs gendaito .. quite unfair John
  12. One of the Shizu Naginata. How about that hada... John
  13. Well mine was made for the Daimyo of the Nabeshima Clan by custom order. It is definitely a Juyo. If this doesn't pass JT I don't know what would. And yes, it is mint and exceptional and that's why I don't sweat this one at all. I know what it is and there's a ton of paperwork that comes with it. I tried with photos and I gave up so off they go to NTHK in August and if they suggest then off to Japan. Meanwhile I have about 20 that I have to sell as I have no more room anywhere.. John
  14. My point precisely How would you know unless you try?! John
  15. Not me. It is what I have read on the forum. It may be just someone's personal dissatisfaction. It'd be best start as they score the blade so that may be a good signal whether I should pursue further or just settle and sell at current level. John
  16. Just shirosaya. I don't think the blade was ever mounted in WW2 outfit John
  17. It is dated to 1580. Still available John
  18. Why keep Saya that doesn't fit the blade?? What a loser John
  19. I appreciate everyone's help and input. I have strong feelings about shodai tadayoshi (nbthk th already). The shizu blades will bring 'th' in a heartbeat. Wasting 2k for denial of the juyo token is worth the try. I also have a real daisho that has 'th' already for both blades.I have had awful time taking photos so I'll just take the chance... Who knows I may be pleasantly surprised or utterly disappointed lol It'd be way cheaper and easier to go to SF NTHK and get their estimate but many don't trust them so it is a strange place to be, that's for sure. I have an old Uda tachi that had 'th' issued from first try so I just can't stop there.. that's like over a dozen 'th' sitting and waiting... Thank you all John
  20. It ain't coming to me so might as well John
  21. I appreciate everything you have written. I have to try. I have to trust someone (if I cant submit myself) and I have to trust regular mail. Yikes John
  22. I believe your words Shodai Tadayoshi has one of the highest Juyo Token recognition than most of the era. Again, speculation. I wouldn't know unless I try, even if I have to submit it personally . John
  23. Well There are some shodai Tadayoshi examples. Those are not too far from Juyo right? 😛 John
  24. I posted one not so long ago. Not him but close to him. The rest have Yamato Shizu papers, who knows might be him or earlier.. We shall see John
  25. Thank you very much. He has always been my first choice. John
