  1. Hello NMB, Can someone explain how the texture/ground was created on this iron tsuba? I can imagine creating this surface on non ferrous metals but I would think ferrous metal would require a different technique. Thanks

  6. Hello All, Can you explain what the notches on the nakago mune represent or why they were put there. As you can see in the photos the habaki also has corresponding notches. I have seen other nakago mune exhibit this condition but I cannot find information as to why this was done. The photos are of a tanto I have that is signed Hiroyoshi. Thanks for your help.

  11. Hello All, Can you help translate the mei and date? I see "Yamato Kuni Hosho ??" for the mei but I may be way off base with my translation. I am totally stuck on the date.
