I still think that Ron got a great deal for $350! :3

http://www.nihonto.us/ISHIDO%20TERUHIDE%20KATANA.htm I dont know... not koto or shinto but i still find it looks fairly priced. If treated with good cares this should be good. some more: http://www.nihonkatana.com/index.php?op ... &Itemid=27 http://moderntosho.com/sale/Sadanori.htm Remy -
I totaly would love to see the process in a video or pictures, also how you tell the difference between punched and drilled, i presume we are talking about handmade drilling here Remy

This might sound like a silly question to some but i couldnt find any information regarding this, how did they traditionaly made mekugi-ana in the nakago? There is zero info about this in pretty much all of the books that i have red and this kind of tickle me curiosity! Thanks Remy

I did exactly this today when i got back from work, warmed some water in the boiler, let it cool off a bit, dip my fingers in it and soaked the crack with about 10~ drops, taped it tightly with inverted electric tape (glued side up), let it rest for 3 ~ 4 hours and untied it. Superb result, its perfect, thanks for the pro tip!

Greetings, Looking at the other thread about shirasaya, a question arose in my mind, i have a tanto in shirasaya that is somewhat spliting apart, so i was wondering if it would be a good or a bad idea to try and glue it back together with rice paste glue. is there a special technic required to ensure quality? I didnt see much on that matter in books ive red. thanks, Remy

Greetings everyone, this is Rémy and i am going to review these so called "nihonto" behing sold over at http://www.thaitsukisword.com/ I want to inform persons that might be new to the world of Japanese swords that these blades being sold by thaitsukisword are not actual Japanese sword but fancy replicas, no matter what their website states and i also wish that someone looking to buy a katana find this review while searching google for information. Know that i blame only myself (and maybe their marketing managment) for buying this thinking this was geniune. From their website they claim to be using traditional technics to make their swords, lets do some quoting from the description found on the USA version of their website shall we. On the american website it reads: Thats a good start, Even better! Amazing! Grea... wait a minute, a serial number.. w-what? Okay now that i am done fooling around i will show you some pictures of the actual thing i received, it is the KTN4 so this would be concidered the top of the line of what they offer, apparently. I do not mind them selling these kind of blades but what kind of bug me is that they call them "nihonto" and "Japanese" when in fact they are made in Thailand, out of solid steel bars with a "mei" that is machine stamped on the tang... On with the evidences.

Greetings everyone, I just received my wakizashi from Fred over at Nihonto.com and I must say that I am very charmed by its beautiful yet strong features. I wanted to share its beauty with you if you do not mind. I will let the pictures says what i could not describe with words. (pardon my humble photograph skills!) If someone want me to give out the measurments i will gladly provide them if you provide me with a info sheet to fill up! Also, if someone could translate to me what the mei and origami says, i would greatly appreciate it, all i know it is Tokubetsu hozon made by Kanenobu. The origami has legitimate "proofs" also, not that i doubted in Fred, i am just pointed that out. Regards, Rémy B.
