KaneHisa Tanto ?

Hello....

Just picked up this from the ...well you know the bay.

It's signed KaneHisa... I think, please correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm interested in finding about the Horimono on this blade.

Please someone help....

is it a poem? who are the six figures? Although I can't read Japanese, are the names of the six figures written on the bottom of the writings? (just a guess)

Thank You... Joe Choi

Kanehisa indeed and from e-bay? not bad and interesting. I automatically thought of the six immortals when I read your post. However, there are usually indicators with the immortals such as the first immortal holds musical instruments in both hands and stands on a lotus leaf; the second reads a book; the third carries a lamp and whisk; the forth immortal stands on a lotus petal and holds a water bowl; the fifth carries a small pagoda; the last one sits on a turtle back and carries a peach. If I could read the text...... Hope someone can illuminate us. John

Thanks for your quick replies....

So I'm right with the names of the poets enscribed on the blade....

Will this be a Kanehisa from Showa period?

Nagasa measures 9.5" and nakago measures 4.25"

The thickness at the notch is 8mm width is 27mm

Thanks all.... :thanks:
