nagamaki - Franco Posted January 5, 2012 Report Posted January 5, 2012 From it's inception I've refused to use paypal services and here's one more reason why http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2012/01/04/paypal-forced-ebay-buyer-violin-counterfeit-_n_1183687.html Quote
cabowen Posted January 5, 2012 Report Posted January 5, 2012 I have had my share of hassles with Paypal as well...The worst was when someone bought a sword from me and sent payment with paypal. I received notice from paypal that the transaction was complete so I mailed the sword out. The next day I tried to move the funds to my bank account. Paypal emails me and tells me they are frozen because it was a "suspicious transaction". They said they were "protecting" me....They would only release the funds to the buyer. I mentioned to them that that meant the buyer would then have both the merchandise and the payment, leaving me with nothing, and wondered how that was "protecting" me??!!! The only thing I could do, after talking with about 6 different people at paypal, was have them refund the money to the buyer. Lucky for me he was an honest person and sent the money again by bank wire. I never use paypal now for anything over a few hundred dollars.... Quote
drbvac Posted January 5, 2012 Report Posted January 5, 2012 Well forewarned is forearmed as they say and it is good to see these types of problems. That said I have probably spent several thousand dollars through pay-pal without giving out my credit card , chequing or banking information and have had zero problems. Quote
Mark Posted January 5, 2012 Report Posted January 5, 2012 wonder how that would work with a gimei sword?? get a pink paper, get the hacksaw out and get your money back? Quote
Justin Grant Posted January 5, 2012 Report Posted January 5, 2012 I sold several armor items via ebay and was paid via PayPal from the buyer in the Soviet Union. I was told I needed to ship the items and supply ebay/paypal with the tracking number, to which I complied, PayPal then notified me I would have access to my money in 3 weeks. What a ripoff. I was out my money for almost a month and the buyer had the stuff in 5 days.. Quote
nagamaki - Franco Posted January 5, 2012 Author Report Posted January 5, 2012 We have a B-I-N-G-O, yes, Mark, I wonder how long it will be before some Japanese sword falls to the hacksaw or fitting smashed by a hammer .... on the plus side, to be fair, the Chinese fakes may now have met their match ....
