cabowen Posted May 26, 2011 Report Posted May 26, 2011 Name of a famous potter in Yamaguchi and the location of a temple in Shimane I think.... Quote
David McDonald Posted May 28, 2011 Author Report Posted May 28, 2011 Dear John and Chris Thanks for the info but? Where is 晴雲山 Seiunzan located? When would the potter have worked? Would he have made swords? thanks david Quote
cabowen Posted May 28, 2011 Report Posted May 28, 2011 It is the name of a famous kiln/potter but he would not be a sword maker.... It is the location of a temple in Shimane Prefecture...The way the blade is signed, it lists Seiunzan as the location where the blade was made, so perhaps it is the location in Shimane. Perhaps Ryuza is the smith, though I find no listing.....puzzling.... Quote

Now with your help have a good shot at the correct reading. Thanks again. later david It is the name of a famous kiln/potter but he would not be a sword maker....
