elliottshogun Posted November 9, 2010 Report Posted November 9, 2010 Why is the name 'Takahashi' familiar to me? Is he a member of the NTK appraisal group for tosogu and nihonto? Quote
Guido Posted November 9, 2010 Report Posted November 9, 2010 Takahashi 高橋 is the third most common Japanese surname after Satô 佐藤 and Suzuki 鈴木. Quote
elliottshogun Posted November 10, 2010 Author Report Posted November 10, 2010 So what you are saying is that you are not familiar with the name in regards to any 'appraisal' organizations ie; NBTHK, NTHK, NTK, etc.? Quote
Jean Posted November 10, 2010 Report Posted November 10, 2010 Elliot, It is as if you were asking : "I wonder why the name Mr Smith is familiar to me" Statistically you will find in an organisation (whatever the organization) several Takahashi. Quote
elliottshogun Posted November 10, 2010 Author Report Posted November 10, 2010 I never thought about the name that way, do you suppose the NTHK, NBTHK, NTK and NTB all had at least one appraiser with the name Takahashi? I found what I was looking for and I will suggest a new topic. Thank you all. Elliott Quote
Toryu2020 Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010 Elliott - I fondly remember going to the monthly meetings of the NBTHK Tokyo and seeing Takahashi-san there. Oddly enough he would be there later in the day at the regular meetings of the NTHK. Add to that he would some times show up at the NBTHK meetings in Kamakura where there was of course our own local Takahashi-san. None of which could be confused with my father-in-law, Mr Takahashi who was Yokohama anyways. Seriously, a very common name... -t Quote
elliottshogun Posted November 11, 2010 Author Report Posted November 11, 2010 I understand.....................Thanks Tom Quote
elliottshogun Posted November 13, 2010 Author Report Posted November 13, 2010 Just passing on what I have learned........... Takahashi Kinai is tsuba maker. Nihon Tosougu Kenkyukai appraiser is Makio Saruta (this name rings a bell). Juho Token Kenkyukai appraiser is Kobayashi Yukinobu. Elliott Quote
