fitzer Posted January 16, 2007 Report Posted January 16, 2007 What do you think of this piece: Thanks http://cgi.ebay.com/WW2-Japanese-Army-S ... dZViewItem Quote
Stephen Posted January 16, 2007 Report Posted January 16, 2007 their getting closer all the time ...its a copy Quote
Mike Posted January 16, 2007 Report Posted January 16, 2007 General construction looks good as long as it is not close-up. Tang and kissaki are wrong, hamon is clearly not real, fittings looks exceptionally good. That is my opinion only, of course. Mike Quote
sencho Posted January 16, 2007 Report Posted January 16, 2007 up to $650 already,.... man what a racket!! Hamon looks very fake (even though it is irregular) .... bottom line for me is it is in Hong Kong... there or China and I don't even bother to click. 2nd he is keeping all of the bidders Private... presumanbly so no one can tip them off!! There is a couple more in US and Australia selling junk as original too.... Also a guy in Japan, who looks to be selling genuine stuff, but has some interesting descriptions http://cgi.ebay.com/ANTIQUE-Japanese-SA ... dZViewItem Disclaimer - this post is not sanctioned by the Nihonto Message Board or iit's staff or moderators. Guido Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 Also a guy in Japan, who looks to be selling genuine stuff, ... Look at his ID history: it's mackstar2001 who changed his ID - the third time already, I wonder why .... Quote
fitzer Posted January 17, 2007 Author Report Posted January 17, 2007 Thanks fellas. I too had my doubts about the hamon. It looks too embellished almost like a fantasy blade. The colours on the fittings also don't look right to the eye, compared with genuine pieces I've seen. Too fresh and again embellished. Quote
