The tip of the lock is broken off so cannot lock but all is original and complete.

Wondeful sword!!! Sadly it is way beyond I can afford at the present moment...

By the way, does the lock between tsuba and saya work? I believe I see on one of the pictures that the locking flat spring might be missing its tip, but I may very well be wrong...

If I recall correctly, this sword is equipped with an  very rare aluminium saya.

Abe Shigeo, aka Yasushige was the successsor of Ikeda Yasumitsu, after Yasumitsu retired

 

He won a President award, if I'm not mistaken.

 

like his Master Yasumitsu he was able and hardened his blades in Ko nie deki, a process tht requires immense skill and experience
