Shin Gunto type 3

Looking to buy type 3 from 1944-45, it must be all original and in very fine condition. I am willing to pay up to $500 AU.

No offence Ian but you may have to add at least 1k AUD to that and even then it probably won't be in very fine condition.  

 

Just reality I'm afraid.....have you done any research on pricing?

I may be behind the times a bit, but the WW2 swords do go for a lower price in Australia, as we had a fair bit of the action coming from New Guinea, such as souvenirs and US servicemen entering Australia from the north. The problem is that not many people are letting go at the moment, so it is a bit dry.

your grasp in prices with in australia is wrong,  prices in austalia arnt cheaper! they are reflected to a world wide price range, postage isnt that complicated. 

your price range for a excellent type 3 with a showato start at 2k aud and go up from there.  thats the market facts.
