Rawa Posted April 23 Report Posted April 23 I would like to get Your opinion on this piece. I didn't bought it etc. Pictures resemble Komonjo's Blade looks like cleaned with acid? Jihada is dense. Mei is legit? Kanji have big gap between them. Nakago jiri shape is preshowa? Habaki 2 piece and under it oil leftovers, but tsuba rim isn't grinded. Be as harsh as You can so I would never think about similar piece. https://www.ebay.com/itm/358458291533 Quote
Ron M Posted April 23 Report Posted April 23 It is my opinion that the blades being sold by this eBay dealer are modern, and the mei is added to each blade then dipped in vinegar to produce the dark patina. I say this based on A) the line on the nakago top toward blade in every one of the blades has the tell tale rusty etch, and B) the tagane (chisel strokes) are raised meaning they are freshly cut. thats my two cents 1 1 Quote
Ganko Posted April 23 Report Posted April 23 I agree with Ron's perspective on this sellers Items. I have observed his items for some time and they all appear recently made to deceive prospective buyers. They appear recently made and fitted to older existing mounts. BUYER BEWARE. 1 1 Quote
