A couple of things I noted; Registration is not obvious. Missing some sites/dealers that I search. 

 

Other than that, I love the save search option and filters.

I don't see a problem; these are similar to any other search results, and there are multiple places called out to view on the original site, and you are not able to buy through this site.

Are you referring to the email verification code? I'm aware email codes have been slow since the announcement, this is to the traffic on the email service. 

 

Otherwise, let me know what you mean by 'not obvious' - I'll make it better.

By not obvious, I meant there is no link anywhere that says "register", so I never even tried to log in, because I didn't have one yet. Only after thinking to try it as a last ditch effort to get forwarded to a registration page, did I even try. The code then came immediately. 

I'll PM you another seller I search often.

Was more thinking in terms of copyright on the pics being used but i'm no legal person.

Neither am I. But Google returns images in their search results too, and they haven't been sued yet as a violation of fair use. I was just pointing out the similarities.

Ok, suggestion for pure convenience.......currently dealer location is Japan and then International. Is it possible to section them as Japan, Europe and USA? This way those of us who have zero interest in contributing to this tariff nonsense can choose all US dealers without having to individually select them.

Thank you for your feedback. Convenience is important. Now, you can tick all dealers from the North American continent.

I added a toggle in profile that lets you enable view on listings less than 100K. 

 

Go to profile -> activate toggle.

Following on popular demand, show all items is now the default. If you want to hide items under 100'000 JPY, you can toggle the option in your profile. 

 

There will be issues with strange items appearing (books, flyers for museum visits, other type of objects) appearing in this price range which are misclassified. 

 

If this becomes too much of an issue, I will revert. 

 

In the meantime, this change has added about 1500 new tosogu items which are now visible to all. 

 

This brings our total items for sale to almost 7000!

There was one thing which I meant to point out a week ago when you first presented your amazing project but it slipped my mind.

I looked up Emura, a World War II gendaito smith of only reasonable quality, and I was a little confused to see that he was shown with one Juyo rating.

 

Just thought I'd better flag it up.

Hi, yes. 

 

This is a data bug.

 

A juyo item by a unicorn smith called "Iemura" from the Oei-period has been mistakingly assigned to the Showa smith Emura. 

 

Thank you for the report, the error is now fixed. 

 

Note on the BETA: There are many data bugs currently. For obscure smiths with 1 Juyo, best assume it's an assignment error.

Thank you from me too. The tool is fantastic. It would be nice if:

 

a) I could send a feature request via the interface. :D 

b) I could filter search results by length, weight, etc parameters. Some of the items don't have this, but some do and for myself this is quite crucial information. For example, I would love to see items that are Koto, longer than 2.5 shaku and under 800 grams (blade). Even if this would not be quite fool proof thanks to missing info, it would help to limit the many options and there could always be a toggle like "Show items without corresponding information: Y/N".

I implemented the report feature, which also lets user ask for new features, report item data bugs, or artisan data bugs, or general bugs.

And good idea on the dimension filtering. I added it for Nagasa, this is the easiest. Weight, I'm afraid is not documented consistently, more than 90% missing data. Motohaba and sakihaba I would say are of marginal utility. Note that there are some data errors on some items, as is to be expected.
