Bruce Pennington Posted December 16, 2025 Report Posted December 16, 2025 This is the first time I've seen the stamp on a Yukimune blade. I have several Masafusa and Kaneshige, and one Kunimichi. Quote
Chris1980 Posted December 17, 2025 Author Report Posted December 17, 2025 Thank you, Moriyama San! Quote
Chris1980 Posted December 17, 2025 Author Report Posted December 17, 2025 Bruce, I found this one and it has not been messed with; do you need anything for your records? Quote
mecox Posted December 17, 2025 Report Posted December 17, 2025 @Chris1980 Chris, very little info available: YUKIMUNE (行宗) real name Nakane Yohei (中根与平). Born Meiji 27 (1894) December 25. Registered as a Seki smith Showa 17 ( 1942) March 5 at age 47. Two addresses given: he may have been from Bugi-gun, Miyano-mura (northern Gifu, high country), then moved to city and when registered gave Seki-machi, Tomino-mura. He was reported to also make some traditional swords. Does not appear to be in 1942 Banzuke list. Example: Noshu Seki ju Yukimune kore kitaeru, nagasa 66.9 cm sori 1.6 cm, no date, no stamp. Torokusho certificate is Heisei 28 (2016). Quote

Sure, I like full length shots of both sides of nakago and maybe a shot of the blade and fittings? Thanks! Quote
Chris1980 Posted December 19, 2025 Author Report Posted December 19, 2025 Mal, Thank you for the information on this smith, I found a Yukimune in both Sloughs and Hawley (YUK 317) but did think this was the same smith. 1 Quote
