Eric_P Posted Sunday at 05:53 PM Report Posted Sunday at 05:53 PM Hello Everyone, Any help with this one would be appreciated. This seems to be a really exaggerated "grass script" which is beyond my level at the moment. Thanks, Eric Quote

Hi John, Suifu (水府) is the name of a village in Hitachi province. The formatting of this mei is slightly unusual, with the two characters of Suifu being arranged horizontally (and read right-to-left) at the top, and one would ordinarily also expect them to be followed by "住", but I guess the smith took some artistic licence here. 4 1 1 Quote
mecox Posted Monday at 02:09 AM Report Posted Monday at 02:09 AM Nice work Jan, and interesting to see him in Sesko lists: NORIMASA (徳正), Keiō (慶応, 1865-1868), Hitachi – “Suifu-jū Inanobe Norimasa” (水府住稲延徳正), real name Kurosawa Sōjirō (黒沢宗次郎), student of Norikatsu (徳勝) 1 1 Quote
Eric_P Posted Monday at 02:09 AM Author Report Posted Monday at 02:09 AM Thank You Jan I agree the Mei is quite unusual but seems to be done well. Eric Quote
Eric_P Posted Monday at 02:10 AM Author Report Posted Monday at 02:10 AM Thank You Mal. I was just about to ask the question you answered. Has anyone seen any other examples of his work? Quote
