SwordGuyJoe Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 Anyone going to the MAX show in Monroeville? I have been able to find quite a few very nice works - most gendaito - at these shows. Quote
Mark Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 Joe I will be there, stop by and check my table, and ask to see items i have have "under the table". Quote

Mark Posted September 23, 2009 Report Posted September 23, 2009 Jean, I try to be a "good guy", but bear in mind this is a "militaria show". The vast majority of people there do not know anything about Japanese swords. I have had people touch the blades (a few have to touch every inch), I had one guy lick a blade (he said he could tell handmade from machine made that way), sooooooooo you will have to forgive me putting the "special stuff" where it will not be abused. SwordGuyJoe Posted September 23, 2009 Author Report Posted September 23, 2009 What table are you going to be at? I assume you'll be in the book, but I hate assuming! Quote
Jean Posted September 23, 2009 Report Posted September 23, 2009 Mark, For sure, you've got some weird characters at your militaria show Quote
Mark Posted September 23, 2009 Report Posted September 23, 2009 Joe table is in my name.... it should be in the book, if not you can ask at the desk. please stop by and introduce yourself Quote
SwordGuyJoe Posted September 23, 2009 Author Report Posted September 23, 2009 Will do and I look forward to meeting you. Do you know anyone else on the board that typically attend? Do you have a list of swords you will be bringing to get the salivation going? Quote
Mark Posted September 24, 2009 Report Posted September 24, 2009 Joe I do not think any of the guys that i recall are this list group. I will have a Shinshinto katana, signed/dated. a nice koto katana with interesting activity, and maybe a signed/dated Shinto yoridoshi with old NBTHK papers, plus a host of others. I usually do not bring my fittings but i might throw them in, if so 100 or so tsuba, a few f/k, menuki etc Quote
