drbvac Posted August 5, 2023 Report Posted August 5, 2023 I recently acquired this blade by Fujiwara Ietede which is papered but I did not get a translation of the Sayagaki. I took three pictures and hopefully they will be clear enough for someone much smarter than I to translate. With thanks in anticipation of some assistance. . 1 Quote

Nobody Posted August 6, 2023 Report Posted August 6, 2023 Is this now your sword by any chance? If so, the actual kiritsukemei is not 二ツ胴 (two bodies) but 三ツ胴 (three bodies). 3 Quote
mecox Posted August 6, 2023 Report Posted August 6, 2023 Brian, looks a very nice sword. Following paper has info on Ietada and his line: 1 Quote

Yes indeed this sword is now in Eastern Canada !!! The papers with the blade say 3 bodies as you correctly identify and I am sure some of the judges must have smiled when finding an error in one of Dr. Sato's Sayagaki !!!! Quote
