Gentlemen;

At the risk of getting a blast,I ask as a new collector for Tsuba, does anyone know of the dealer;yangyangok88868. yes he is Chinese. I wouldnt even bother to ask except he seems automatically recommended by Ebay under the guise "look what they have found for you" or something very similar. The Tsuba are all notated as pre 1800!!

Ebay tends to do that, Henry.

It takes note of what you search for, uses that info to search for similar items, then recommends them to you the next time you log on to ebay.

It doesn't differentiate between fakes though, so use your own judgement.

I am sure it (Ebay) rates you on the amount of items you list as well (i.e make money for Ebay) In regards to the tsuba, they all fake junk.

If you want some good cheap tsuba, go here. http://www.finesword.co.jp/sale/kodougu/kodougu(1-300).htm

Genuine items, great communications and trustworthy as they are a sub group of Ginza Choshuya. This is my 1st recomendation for people on strict budgets.

When in doubt, stay clear of Ebay. Broken record 33.3, study, learn, look, handle, then buy off Ebay, not the other way around.

Cheers

Rich/Grey?Lee;

Gentlemen.

I thank you for your generosity of spirit and the information you have given. I'm off now round these sites to see what there is for me. My idea is to handle what is known as the real thing and I hope at least to have an idea what I seek. At least not to fall in pot holes.
