Kurikata Posted February 13, 2022 Report Posted February 13, 2022 Hi, I guess this tsuba might be of Shonai Shoami influences (Suaka with gold zogan). What are you views ? Thank you 1 1 Quote
Soshin Posted February 13, 2022 Report Posted February 13, 2022 Hi Bruno P., Yes, I see and agree with Shonai Shoami influences. I wish the tsuba was signed. I had a ji-sukashi tsuba without the gold zogan sell out from my collection in 2021. It was made of the same base metal also with black lacquer, but it had a really nice silver fukurin. 1 Quote
JohnTo Posted February 13, 2022 Report Posted February 13, 2022 Hi Bruno, Just seen your tsuba. the design looks familiar. I posted this tsuba some time back. It was part of an old collection I bought at auction. It was not in great condition and had a lobster kashira rivited to the seppa dai. Probably used as a paper weight. My tsuba is iron and I put it down to possibly of the Ono school using a Yagyu design. Pics of mine with kashira attached. Best regards, John 2 Quote
Kurikata Posted February 14, 2022 Author Report Posted February 14, 2022 Thank you John, quite interesting to see the same design with 2 different interpretations in execution (Steel/Copper - Incrustation / without) Quote
