Bruce Pennington Posted March 16, 2021 Report Posted March 16, 2021 Type 19 Dress (or parade) sabre. Used for photo ops, parades, formal occasions. Not tempered, so not a weapon. Started in 1886, but used throughout WWII. http://ohmura-study.net/988.html Quote
waren Posted March 17, 2021 Author Report Posted March 17, 2021 Tell me please , this sword is f fake or not? Thanks for answers Quote
ribendao Posted March 17, 2021 Report Posted March 17, 2021 It's not a fake sword. It was produced for the Japanese military, but it is not an actual weapon. Like Bruce said it was primarily used during formal military occasions. These are typically not valuable and worth about $100-$200. Yours has a kamon (family crest) on the hilt making it slightly more interesting/valuable, but not by much. 1 Quote
Bruce Pennington Posted March 17, 2021 Report Posted March 17, 2021 These are sometimes faked, but the one you are posting is legit. Quote
