Brian Posted August 10, 2020 Report Posted August 10, 2020 Have a scan of a book I would like to share. But before I do, I need to know exactly what the book is, and whether it would be copyrighted or cause issues, I have uploaded the first 2 pages here. Title suggested it is "Japanese Sword Restoration and Polishing at the MET by OGAWA" but not sure of any details. Brian whatsit.pdf Quote
Babu Posted August 10, 2020 Report Posted August 10, 2020 I thought all books and publications were somebody's intellectual property. I'm not sure though, if it's permitted to scan and allow others to reference only, but not download ...but even in this I think you need permission from the authors or publishers. It might be different outside the UK but I doubt it. As with all printed material, there will be an implied copyright if it's not expressly written. My experience is from my own legal cases. Quote
Jussi Ekholm Posted August 10, 2020 Report Posted August 10, 2020 (edited) I believe the title would be 在外日本古美術品保存修復協力事業 - The Cooperative Program for the Conservation of Japanese Art Objects Overseas And this is 工芸品/絵画 Crafts / Paintings? There is some info about the project in here: https://www.jcic-heritage.jp/project/asia_japan_zaigaibijutsu_201412/ Edited August 10, 2020 by Jussi Ekholm Added crafts / paintings Quote
Babu Posted August 10, 2020 Report Posted August 10, 2020 Then maybe permission would be easier as it would help achieve their objectives.? Quote
Brian Posted August 10, 2020 Author Report Posted August 10, 2020 Anyone have access to the author? Would be a nice one to upload. I am doing a TON of stuff in the background and some nice stuff coming. Quote
