SAS Posted May 5, 2020 Report Posted May 5, 2020 This smith is reported to have worked in Echizen province around Enpo (1673-1681) as part of the well known Shimosaka school. Mei compares favorably with other examples on line; I beleive it to be shoshin. 13 cm nagasa, 26 cm nakago, 2 cm wide at base. Blade is in decent polish; there are small hike, light pitting, and a small ware near the base on the ura side, and remnants of red urushi in the hi, as well as a rudimentary but functional shirasaya. $675 USD Paypal plus fees and shipping. I will attempt better photos upon request. A donation will be made to the NMB upon sale.
SAS Posted May 6, 2020 Author Report Posted May 6, 2020 Questions, concerns, or offers entertained (if not too entertaining...) Also, if the buyer requests, i can add red urushi to the hi at no additional charge.
SAS Posted May 10, 2020 Author Report Posted May 10, 2020 $650 and free shipping to the US and its territories.......
