Bruno Posted March 18, 2020 Report Posted March 18, 2020 Hello, I am re-posting here. I am looking for any infos (oshigata, photos of blades, nakago, backgroung...) about this smith who signed Sanemichi. There is already an old post here from 2013 mentioning him. He (Tanabe Kuniyoshi) was ranked chujo saku in the Tosho Banzuke, 1942. I am trying to find out if Tanabe Kuniyoshi and the RJT smith Sanemichi were the same person. Also, was he a student of the Tokyo Kato smiths? Infos about him seem quite scarce or inexistant so I am looking for help here. Thanks in advance Here are a few pics (along with a Mantetsu-to...). Bruce Pennington Posted March 16, 2023 Report Posted March 16, 2023 I'm surprised this post had no replies. Interesting date - March 2020 - maybe everyone got distracted with the COVID outbreak! Well, for the researching guys, I'm posting the following (Bruno already knows the answers): Kanemichi, October 1944, RJT star (first star-stamped Kanemichi in my files!) From @Kiipu " 眞 = 真.道. And the Mantetsu is a Spring 1943, Koa Isshin @Bruno - I'm assuming we already have the serial number? Quote

Yes Thomas, both are different swords but by the same smith Masamichi. I guess now Chris B owns the one on the Mark's old post. 1 Quote
