Ian B3HR2UH Posted January 22, 2019 Report Posted January 22, 2019 I thought that I would try a post with a picture attached so here goes. Has anyone seen a tassel like that on the lower Kyu gunto . Unwrapped it must be about two or three feet long! Ian Brooks Quote
PNSSHOGUN Posted January 22, 2019 Report Posted January 22, 2019 Wow, great Field Grade Kyu Gunto you have there, is there an old blade residing inside? The tassel is an early war one for the Shin Gunto, there's a good example of one at 22 inches here on Dougs site: http://www.guntoartswords.com/010439.html 1 Quote
Ian B3HR2UH Posted January 22, 2019 Author Report Posted January 22, 2019 Thanks John , the blade is an old one , suriage and with a groove that goes all the way through the nakago .It has a pretty distinctive hamon in gunome chogi midare ( also called Kanefusa midare ) so I think it might be by Kanefusa or Ujifusa .
