Bryce Posted July 24, 2018 Report Posted July 24, 2018 G'day Guys, Can someone please tell me what this green paper says about this Koshirae? None of the fittings are signed are far as I can tell. Cheers, Bryce Quote
kyushukairu Posted July 24, 2018 Report Posted July 24, 2018 It basically just describes what's there. The main text is 'Uchigatana koshirae with black painted saya' (黒塗鞘打刀拵). Quote
Bryce Posted July 24, 2018 Author Report Posted July 24, 2018 Thanks Kyle. I was hoping there was a bit more detail. Cheers, Bryce Quote
Guido Posted July 25, 2018 Report Posted July 25, 2018 I was hoping there was a bit more detail. There is : tsuba: shōchikubai 松竹梅 (pine & bamboo & plum tree) motif, iron menuki: akigusa 秋草 (autumn plants) motif, shakudō I can't make out the details for the fuchigashira, except that it's made of shinchū (brass). 2 Quote
Bryce Posted July 25, 2018 Author Report Posted July 25, 2018 Great! Thanks Guido. Cheers, Bryce Quote
SteveM Posted July 25, 2018 Report Posted July 25, 2018 Maybe that first part is 總金具 (meaning all fittings made of brass)? Quote
