Hello,

 

Some help wanted in translation of the mei on what looks like a Kai-Gunto. 
Sorry for the poor quality pics, (two different lights) these are as sent by the owner who is in his 80's.

Dear Bas.

 

(Apologies if that is not your real name).  Run away!  This is not a kai gunto, indeed it is not a Japanese sword but a fake.  The translation is worthless as is the sword.

I don't think its the name of a smith. I think its a name somebody scratched on to the nakago - maybe the owner.

Komura Uji?

Thank you so much for this info. I had my doubts and happy this is confimed. 
I will carefully deliver the message as the man is much older than the sword.
