pcfarrar Posted May 7, 2008 Report Posted May 7, 2008 Hi Steve, Very nice looking kogatana. I like the almost wet look to the jigane. I have two tanto by Naohiro and I'm very happy with both of them. Quote
Guest nickn Posted May 7, 2008 Report Posted May 7, 2008 if you dont mind me asking what would be the price of such a piece? Quote
Carlo Giuseppe Tacchini Posted May 7, 2008 Report Posted May 7, 2008 Nice piece. Mekugiana on Kogatana might be a good topic on its own. Quote
Brian Posted May 8, 2008 Report Posted May 8, 2008 Very nice Steve, I would be proud to own that. I think with the blade length and mekugi ana, that still falls under licencable blade status in Japan and needed an export procedure? Much as we see larger shrine dedication and presentation blades, I see this as a large presentation kogatana. Cross between a tanto and kogatana? Nice. Brian Quote
Jean Posted May 8, 2008 Report Posted May 8, 2008 Steve, Congratulations!!!! Fantastic hamon and tight jigane I love kogatana. I have two in shirasaya, one with a wooden habaki, the other with a copper habaki, one of them has a sayakaki. There are both by smiths specialised in kogatana at the end of 17h century Quote
