PNSSHOGUN Posted May 4, 2018 Report Posted May 4, 2018 I'm trying to figure out the style of this Hamon, the closest I have seen is Koshi-No-Hiraita but I have found very few examples to compare. Anyone with examples or which schools/smiths are known for this Hamon would be greatly appreciated. Quote
Kronos Posted May 4, 2018 Report Posted May 4, 2018 Koshi-no-hiraita is associated with the oei bizen school. Iirc it was copied by sue bizen such as sukesada and probably some edo smiths. On the sho-shin website there's a good example by morimitsu I believe. 1 Quote
Ian B3HR2UH Posted May 4, 2018 Report Posted May 4, 2018 It looks like a variation of san bon sugi to me John . Ian Brooks 2 Quote
Stefan Posted May 4, 2018 Report Posted May 4, 2018 Classic Sanbonsugi, but a later form. Looks like Shinto. Greetings Stefan 2 Quote
PNSSHOGUN Posted May 5, 2018 Author Report Posted May 5, 2018 Variation of Sanbonsugi seems about right then, the blade has Kanbun Sugata which ties in. Thank you everyone. Did anyone have a reference for a sword with a similar variation? Quote
