This sword I have just seen in a local antique shop ,just thought I would run it by you guys to see what you think ,it in great condition but with no visable hamon , I'm not sure if its a fake maybe ? asking price £750 gbp

At £750 probably not something you would want, time to shop around a bit.  (It's always tempting when they are on your doorstep isn't it?)

hi , thanks for your reply , yes its allways tempting when you can get your hands on it straight away , think I will pass on this one :)

There actually were navy blades mounted in army fittings, it would have been a tsuka like this one, and a leather-covered saya, used by Naval forces stationed on land and serving with the army. But this one seems to be mission the seppa, and no saya.

 

Either way, like John said, half the price would be more appropriate.
