Sly Posted September 5, 2016 Report Posted September 5, 2016 Hi ! I got this tembo school tsuba in my collection which passed NBTHK hozon last spring. I didn't manage to read the mei on the tsuba, but apparently the NBTHK could ! On the kanteisho, I just guess that the mei begins with "Yoshu Ju...", but I can't read the following kanjis. Could anyone give a little help about this ? Sylvain Quote

Sly Posted September 7, 2016 Author Report Posted September 7, 2016 Thanks Thierry ! Any idea of what is written on the kanteisho beside the mei, on the left ? Is it an information on the maker ? Quote
Shugyosha Posted September 7, 2016 Report Posted September 7, 2016 Hi Sylvain, No, it's a description of the tsuba: 撫角形 Nade Kaku Gata elongated square shape 鉄槌目地 Tetsu tsuchime Ji hammered iron ground 刻印打込 Kizamu Jirushi uchi komu including cut, hammered, stamp 打返耳 Uchi kaeshi mimi hammered back rim. Best regards, John Quote
MauroP Posted September 8, 2016 Report Posted September 8, 2016 Hi, I think 刻印打込 reads koku ́in uchikomi. The main description is: 打込紋散図鐔 - uchikomi-mon chirashi (no) zu tsuba. Bye, Mauro 1 Quote
