Importtuner13 Posted April 22, 2016 Report Posted April 22, 2016 Hey all, My knowledge is limited, but not as limited as the fellow I'm researching for. he recently picked up a kai gunto, but, to me, it looks like a traditionally made blade. definetly has a hamon, I think I even see nioi. but I'm no professional. I also assume out of polish with blemishes and damage on the edge reduces value significantly. let the knowledge flow! thanks! Dan Quote
Grey Doffin Posted April 22, 2016 Report Posted April 22, 2016 Tada something, dated Showa 18 (1943) (these pictures are upside down). Has an arsenal stamp (Showa stamp?) and is not traditionally made. Grey Quote
Kai-Gunto Posted April 22, 2016 Report Posted April 22, 2016 Samegawa saya, rayskin covered scabbard is a more expensive option than normal lacquer over wood. Not traditionally made blade. Quote
