Toryu2020 Posted September 1, 2015 Report Posted September 1, 2015 Heres a piece I am currently researching. Having exhausted my library I wonder if any members can point me to other examples of tsuba from the Yokoyama school? any help appreciated, -t Quote
jlawson Posted September 2, 2015 Report Posted September 2, 2015 Elliott has a nice example here http://www.shibuiswords.com/yasuri.htmof Tosho tsuba made by ShinShinto Yokoyama swordsmiths as well as some information on the school. Toko Taikan also has info on page 340. Not 100% sure that yours is the same group but seems likely and you might start there.... If it is, that is a pretty nice find and great companion piece to someone who has a sword signed similarly. Quote
Toryu2020 Posted September 3, 2015 Author Report Posted September 3, 2015 Thanks James - had not looked in the Toko Taikan - does it address tsuba or just the Yokoyama school in general? Wish I had seen this at the show, would have been nice to compare the metal. -t Quote
jlawson Posted September 3, 2015 Report Posted September 3, 2015 Yokoyama school unfortunately but you might find a match on the signature and give you a definite match as a shinshinto Tosho piece.... Quote
Toryu2020 Posted September 3, 2015 Author Report Posted September 3, 2015 James it is the same group and it is Yokoyama not Yokohama - if you read Elliotts page it references the very same source. Still hoping there are more examples out there... -t Quote
